Advice For Changing Over To Natural Cosmetics

So Here you are, you have read how bad chemical filled cosmetics are for you and your health and you want to make the change, but are thinking what do I do next ? It’s financially crippling to try to change everything at once and not to mention wasteful. Your bathroom or/and bedroom will probably be full to the rafters with beauty products some will have already started and some still sealed so where do you start. I’ve put together a few Tips and ideas to make the change over a little easier they helped me through the transition stage so I hope they can help you too. I’ve also put together a list of fantastic online shops to restock with healthy new products and a few DIY beauty ideas to give a try.

My Tips For Changing To Natural Cosmetics :

  • Tell your family and friends your decision to stop using chemical filled cosmetics, You can explain why and ask them if they are deciding to buy you gift sets for Christmas or a birthday could they get you a natural version or even a gift voucher to a place where you can get them from if they feel to confused to buy alone.
  • Go Through your cosmetics and check the ingredients off against the list. Start by replacing the products with the highest chemical content first and then work through until everything has been changed over.
  • If you have a friend or family member who doesn’t really mind whats in their cosmetics hand over part used shampoos etc to them. It’s financially and environmentally sounder than to just throw them away. My sister was happy to take all my make up and cosmetics off my hand when I changed over.
  • Give un opened gift sets to charities to sell or re gift them … Just not back to the person who originally brought it for you, that could make this a bit awkward.
  • Have a go at DIY cosmetics like dry shampoo or face masks. Home versions work just as well as shop brought ones. There are so many great ideasto try on Pinterest.
  • Coconut oil and a flannel make a cheap but affective make up remover, it even removes waterproof Mascara. Just rub the coconut oil into the skin to loosen up the make-up then remove with a hot wet flannel … Simple but brilliant.
  • Sell in date and unused gift sets or cosmetics on Ebay or Facebook and use the money you make to fund all the new products you want.
  • Buy from companies that give reward points. The points will quickly add up and help towards the cost of the new products.
