Book Challenges

Birth Year Book Challenge.

This year I have decided to get my bookworm back on, I used to spend hour curled up with a good book but life got in the way like is always does, so this year I have made a vow to make time each day to read and find that tranquility again that reading gives you.

I have joined several book and reading groups on Facebook and follow a few book blogs and whilst having a look around I cam across a reading challenge based on the year your were born, The idea of this challenge is to encourages you to find out, and then read some of the book published in that year, You might even draw some conclusions about what was going on in the literary world that year.

As soon as I read the idea I loved it, I honestly had no idea what books were published in the year I was born, so I am really excited about this challenge. I started to look for a list of books and I came across Goodreads list of the 200 most popular books released in 1982  (yep I’m 35), but I am still looking for a book that was published in the month I was born and I would love to find one that was published on the same day as I was born.

Check the 1982 list out here or Wikipedias 1982 list here

So I’ve had a good look at the lists and decided on 6 books

The Colour Purple by Alice Walker

A Cry In The Night by Mary Higgins Clark

The Virgin in the Ice (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael, #6) by Ellis Peters

The Tell-Tale Heart and Other Writings by Edgar Allan Poe

To Hold the Crown (Tudor Saga #1) by Jean Plaidy

The Road to Middle-Earth: How J.R.R. Tolkien Created A New Mythology by Tom Shippy

The Road to Middle-Earth: How J.R.R. Tolkien Created A New Mythology
The really good thing about this challenge is that it fits nicely with my other reading challenge for 2018 that you can find here if you want to join me, as 2018 it the year of the Bookworm
Do you know what books were published in the year you were born ? Have you read any of them ? Drop me a line or two and let me know.
Lots of Love Berry xx
